Above Lastovo, the largest place on the island,
is the peak with a meteorological station, which
offers a beautiful view on the eastern part of the
island, the islets of Lastovci and the neighbouring
island of Korcula.
Lastovo is an ideal place for peaceful vacations,
far from the usual crowd of tourists. Home-made food
(Lastovo is famous for spiny lobsters) and exquisite
wines, as well as sports and recreational
opportunities - yachting, surfing, fishing -
guarantee a pleasant stay.
Especially attractive are excursions by boat to the
islands and islets of the Lastovo archipelago, with
bathing and fish picnic opportunities. The island of
Saplun is famous for its beautiful sand beaches.
The pier is located in a small, shallow cove called
Sveti Mihovil (St. Michael), protected only from
southerly winds.
Skrivena luka, also known as
Portorus is one of the
biggest and the
most beautiful bay on the island
of Lastovo. Skrivena Luka
means Hidden Harbor,
and it is true that the bay can not be
seen from the open
sea. Skrivena Luka is located on
the southern part of
the island and is protected from the
rough sea and strong winds. With 7 km long
road, the bay is connected
with the village of Lastovo, 17 km away is the port
of Ubli. |
